Library Hours, Rules & Procedures

HOURS:

 

The Wilmington Middle School STEAM Magnet Library is open for all students before school starting at 7:30am Mondays through Fridays.  The library closes at 3:30 Mondays, *Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. On Thursdays, due to meetings, the library will be closed at 1:15 PM. During the school day, unless scheduled with a specific class, students must have a pass signed by a teacher in order to enter the library during school hours.  The library is open during lunch. Students must also, obtain a lunch pass before school or during passing period. 

 

*Some Tuesdays, the library will be closed after school due to faculty meetings.

• Materials check out for two weeks and may be renewed. Students do not need to have a book with them to have it renewed. Students may have up to 3 books at a time checked out. If a student is unsure about the status of their account, they should feel free to stop by the library anytime to review it.
• Books may be checked out for 2 weeks, and may be renewed up to 3 times.
• Overdue materials are assessed a fine of $ .10 a day, with a maximum fine accrual of $5.00 per item. Lost books are charged their full price plus a processing fee. Please see the library staff if you have any questions.

POLICIES:

• Students are welcome in the library before school without a pass. During classes, students must have a library pass signed by a teacher.
• Food and drinks are not allowed in the library.  Lunch MUST be eaten in the cafeteria prior to entry. 
• All library users have the right to enjoy this community space comfortably. Please be respectful of personal space and appropriate behavior.
• If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to speak to the Mrs. Hulett-Peay. The library is a community space designed to reflect all the needs of Wilmington Middle School STEAM Magnet students and staff.
