Our Partners

We are extremely grateful for all the support we receive from our community businesses and organizations - without them, we could not provide our students with the first class education they need and deserve.

On this page, we will be recognizing that support and we ask that you please let our partners know that they are appreciated.
Phillips 66 Phillips 66 has been a supportive and generous partner with Wilmington Middle School STEAM Magnet from the very beginning. Their contributions include funding for the online Math program ST Math, funding for 2 STEAM labs, and partnering with Sharefest to fund and participate in the renovation of the school library, install several murals, and contribute to a variety of other projects to help make our school beautiful.

In addition, HCBF has provided funding for other activities students have participated in, including the Environmental Youth Leadership Summit.

Los Angeles Marine Institute The Los Angeles Maritime Institute (LAMI), with funding provided by the Harbor Community Benefit Foundation, will be providing a program for students to learn from experts about the environmental impact of the Port of Los Angeles and to participate in “day sails” during which they will be able to engage in firsthand data collection. This program will be taking place during the Fall 2017 semester.

CELF The Children's Environmental Literacy Foundation (CELF) is an organization that partners with schools to integrate the teaching of environmental issues and sustainable living across the curriculum.

Wilmington Middle School STEAM Magnet has been working with CELF for the past 2 years.  Through the program, teachers integrate such topics as the Great Pacific Gyre into all areas of the curriculum and promote responsible use of resources through our recycling program.  Place-based learning is a key component of this program, encouraging students to learn through phenomena in the local community and become problem-solvers with regard to environmental concerns.
